Can anyone get food from the Ecumenical Food Pantry?

The pantry serves residents of Pike County.

 

How do I register for the pantry?

The person needing food can come to the pantry on Friday when the pantry is open

(11:30am-1:00pm or 6:30-7:30pm). No appointment is necessary.

 

Do I need an appointment to come to the food pantry? No

 

How often can I get food from the food pantry?

Currently families can come to the pantry three times a month.

Does the pantry give out special holiday food bags at Thanksgiving and Christmas?

Yes. Families that are already registered will receive a holiday bag on the scheduled holiday distribution day. Families that register on the holiday distribution day will receive a holiday bag if any remain after the regular distribution. 

 

How do I make a financial donation to the pantry?

Is the Ecumenical Food Pantry a non-profit organization?

Yes. The Pantry is a tax-exempt organization under Federal Identification Number 31-1629166. Its tax-exempt status flows from the Church of the Good Shepherd and St. John the Evangelist and is a recognized subordinate organization of the Protestant Episcopal Church of America. Be assured that your online donation will be directed to the Ecumenical Food Pantry of Pike County, though your receipt will display "Protestant Episcopal Church of America."

 

What kind of food can I donate to the pantry?

Please refer to the Donate tab/Items Needed or refer to the pantry’s Amazon WishList .

 

Does the pantry accept prepared food left over from parties or large events? No.

Does the pantry accept fresh produce or items that require refrigeration?

Please refer to Donate tab/Items needed.

 

Does the pantry accept donations of clothing? No.

 

Does the pantry accept donations of small appliances, or household goods? No.

How does the Amazon Wishlist work?

When you click the Amazon Wishlist icon, you will be taken to the pantry’s Wishlist items. The Wishlist will open in your Amazon account; you will be prompted to sign into your Amazon account or sign up for an Amazon account if you do not have one. Before you check out, be sure you don’t have anything already in your cart that you don’t want shipped to the pantry.

  •  When checking out, make sure to select the "Ecumenical Food Pantry of Pike County" shipping option.

  • You’ll see that the package will be sent to Ship Shop, a shipping supply & service,  where a pantry volunteer will be notified to pick it up. This setup helps prevent packages from being left unattended at the pantry.

 

At what age can children volunteer at the pantry?

Children between 10-13 can volunteer but must be accompanied by an adult.

Children age 14 and older can volunteer on their own.
